dear participants!

»Listen. Sing along. Take part. For peace in the world.« Inspired by this theme, musicians from different countries, cultures and religions are coming together again for the 15th time, here at the Whitsun Festival Musica Sacra International in our town. Even though the festival will take place over several weekends, due to the pandemic, and we won’t be able to welcome all guests at the same time and on-site - I would still like to extend a warm welcome to you all here in and from Marktoberdorf!

Nine ensembles from different religious backgrounds will ensure magnificent moments and international flair in our town, despite a worldwide pandemic. Concerts, the participation in worship services, exhibitions and workshops will give us the opportunity to absorb this flair – even when it comes to socially distanced encounters.

This year I would particularly like to recommend the festival weekend in autumn, when concerts, workshops and talks – for the first time combined with the »walk of the religions« – will take place.

Marktoberdorf is colourful. Diversity, a feeling of community and tolerance are values, which are lived all year round. During Musica Sacra International our international guests will be in the limelight together with us. I am therefore already looking forward to a peaceful festival of music and of the religions!
